Psalm 105:42-45 For He remembered His holy promise, and Abraham, His servant.

Psalm 105:42-45

For He remembered His holy promise, and Abraham, His servant. So He brought His people out with joy, His chosen ones with singing. And He gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples' toil, that they might keep His statutes and observe His laws. Praise the LORD!

Lord, You have brought me out into a land of milk and honey, a land where Your word abounds and Your peace is the order of the day. To live all the rest of my days in Your kingdom, in Your presence, being led and taught by Your Holy Spirit; that is a sweet foretaste of what is to come.

Praise You, my Lord and Master.

Psalm 105:39-41 He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light by night.

Psalm 105:39-41
He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light by night. They asked, and He brought quail, and gave them bread from heaven in abundance. He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed through the desert like a river.

Amazing, simply amazing, Lord. Earlier this morning as I prayed over Psalm 119:36-37, You were showing me that I must incline my heart to Your testimonies and that I would receive life, that I was not to come to You for prosperity, but for life in Your name. And now, You follow it up with the assurance that all my needs have been arranged for and will be supplied at the proper time.

Psalm 105:26-38 He sent Moses, His servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.

Psalm 105:26-38
He sent Moses, His servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen. They performed His signs among them and miracles in the land of Ham. He sent darkness, and made the land dark; they did not rebel against His words. He turned their waters into blood and caused their fish to die. Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the chambers of their kings. He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats throughout their country. He gave them hail for rain, and fiery lightning bolts through their land. He struck down their vines and fig trees, and shattered the trees of their country. He spoke, and the locusts came, young locusts without number, which devoured all the vegetation in their land and ate up the fruit of their ground. He struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their strength. Then he brought out Israel with silver and gold, and there was none among His tribes who stumbled. Egypt was glad when they departed, for dread of them had fallen upon it.

You redeemed me! You took me out of slavery to sin and brought me to life. It was You, my Lord Jesus the Christ, who paid the penalty for my sins and gave me freedom. You bear the scars of the nails, the sword and the lashes so that I am always reminded of Your willing sacrifice. I bear the scars of my past life so that I am always reminded of my desperate condition.

Praise You, my Lord and Savior.

Psalm 105:12-25 When they were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it, wandering from nation to nation,

Psalm 105:12-25
When they were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it, wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people, He allowed no one to oppress them; He rebuked kings on their account, saying, "Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!" When He summoned a famine on the land and broke all supply of bread, He had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. His feet were hurt with fetters; his neck was put in a collar of iron; until what He had said came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him. The king sent and released him; the ruler of the peoples set him free; he made him lord of his house and ruler of all his possessions, to bind his princes at his pleasure and to teach his elders wisdom. Then Israel came to Egypt; Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. And the LORD made His people very fruitful and made them stronger than their foes. He turned their hearts to hate His people, to deal craftily with His servants.

Lord, as I think back on my life, during that bleak period when I was not walking with you, even then Your hand was upon me. Your shield was around me. Your angels stood between me and the folly of my ways. You are faithful even when I am not.
And now, I see many of those instances when You intervened, and know that there are many more that I do not recognize. Thank You and praise You, my Lord and Savior. I cannot repay You for Your grace and mercy but I can show my love, appreciation, and gratitude by obeying You.

Psalm 105:7-11 He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth.

Psalm 105:7-11
He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. He remembers His covenant forever, the word that He commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant that He made with Abraham, His sworn promise to Isaac, which He confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance."

You chose me, Lord, before I was in my mother's womb, before I was a gleam in my father's eye, You knew me and knew my every thought, step and deed. Praise You, my Lord, for You love me and provide for me in spite of my sin and rebellion. You drew me to You, cleansed me from my sin, erased the spirit of rebellion and replaced it with Your Spirit. You set my feet on a wide place, secure in the knowledge that You are guiding my life in all things.

Praise You, my Lord and Master.

Psalms 105:1-6 Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples!

Psalms 105:1-6
Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; tell of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He uttered, O offspring of Abraham, His servant, children of Jacob, His chosen ones!

Lord, I am still wrestling with seeking Your presence continually. That seems to be the keystone to all other aspects of Kingdom living; to seek You, Your strength and Your presence continually. It is one thing to sit here each morning and write to You, but then I leave, start my day and only infrequently during the day, return to seeking You. Lead me, Holy Spirit into the continuous, ongoing presence of King Jesus.

Psalm 119:79 Let those who fear You turn to me, that they may know Your testimonies.

Psalm 119:79

Let those who fear You turn to me, that they may know Your testimonies.

This is a awesome responsibility, Lord, to ask that others be able to look to me for guidance and example. Am I willing? Am I able to be judged by the stricter standards of a teacher? Do I really understand what You expect of one who picks up the mantle of teacher? Lord, strip me of pride and replace it with the humble and contrite heart that seeks only Your glory.

Psalm 104:31-35 May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works,

Psalm 104:31-35
May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works, who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke! I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD. Let sinners be consumed from the earth, and let the wicked be no more! Bless the LORD, O my soul! Praise the LORD!

LORD, if my purpose for being is to praise You and enjoy Your company forever, and it is that; then open the eyes of my heart to see You and Your hand as revealed in all and by all. Show Your handiwork in every blade of grass, and reveal Your love for mankind in every face I see. Let paeans of praise and hymns of thanksgiving pour continuously from my lips and be the sparks that ignite every action.

Psalm 104:24-30 O LORD, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom have You made them all; the earth is full of Your creatures.

Psalm 104:24-30
O LORD, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom have You made them all; the earth is full of Your creatures. Here is the sea, great and wide, which teems with creatures innumerable, living things both small and great. There go the ships, and Leviathan, which You formed to play in it. These all look to You, to give them their food in due season. When You give it to them, they gather it up; when You open Your hand, they are filled with good things. When You hide Your face, they are dismayed; when You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. When You send forth Your Spirit, they are created, and You renew the face of the ground.

LORD, how the earth, sea and the air above teem with life. In all shapes and sizes, all displaying Your love of creating. As I dug in the garden yesterday, the earthworms were busy converting the vegetable waste that I was burying into rich, black, friable soil to nourish a new bounty of crops. You are opening Your hand to fill us with good things; You were renewing the face of the ground.

Praise You, LORD, God Almighty.

Psalm 104:19-23 He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting.

Psalm 104:19-23

He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting. You make darkness, and it is night, when all the beasts of the forest creep about. The young lions roar for their prey, seeking their food from God. When the sun rises, they steal away and lie down in their dens. Man goes out to his work and to his labor until the evening.

The complete and intricate interweavings of Your creation are things of great beauty. That the very movement of the universe, in all its awesome majesty, should govern the rhythms of life. This is not chaos, not the result of random events, but Your hand, carefully crafting beauty and order. Out of that order comes provision for all living creatures so that all may recognize You as the Creator God.

Psalm 104:7-18 At Your rebuke they fled; at the sound of Your thunder they took to flight.

Psalm 104:7-18
At Your rebuke they fled; at the sound of Your thunder they took to flight. The mountains rose, the valleys sank down to the place that You appointed for them. You set a boundary that they may not pass, so that they might not again cover the earth. You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow between the hills; they give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst. Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches. From Your lofty abode You water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your work. You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man's heart. The trees of the LORD are watered abundantly, the cedars of Lebanon that He planted. In them the birds build their nests; the stork has her home in the fir trees. The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers.

LORD, to sit here each morning and watch the interplay among the various facets of Your creation is a blessing from You. Two gold finches, bright, bouncy flashes of yellow and black, on the thistle feeder. Your hand has provided the thistle, Your wisdom guided a craftsman to make the steel shepherd's crook from which it hangs. You gave a man the love for Your land and the desire to tend its produce that furnished the seed. Because man believed that your creation operated in a predictable manner, the technology that resulted was available to manufacture the thistle feeder, to smelt the iron that became the steel, to transport and make these items available to us. All this and much, much more, so that I could have the pleasure of watching two gold finches bounce about a thistle feeder.

Praise You, LORD

Psalms 104:1-6
Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, You are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, covering Yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent. He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters; He makes the clouds His chariot; He rides on the wings of the wind; He makes his messengers winds, His ministers a flaming fire. He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved. You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.

Bless You, my LORD, praise You as You reveal Yourself in the majesty of Your creation. The light, now burning off the early morning fogs, exposing the mighty arch of the heavens overhead, the promise of the day to come.

Help me to see, Lord, a cloud as a reminder of the way You move quietly over all the earth, going every which way on the wings of the wind. Let the gentle breezes and the fierce gales remind me of the power of Your word, both spoken softly and then at times, with power and might.

Lord, the constancy of the earth in its path, the regularity of all of nature tells me of the utter dependability of Your laws. As the earth continues on its course, so do Your laws serve to guide my life in Your kingdom without fail or lapse.

Psalm 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandments.

Psalm 119:66
Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandments.

Teach me good judgment, Lord, that is an attribute that I desperately need. My head gets filled with knowledge but to apply it through the heart is another matter that requires good and sound judgment. How can this come about except through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit teaching and training me? How can I interpret Your commandments and apply them to all aspects of my life except through Your teaching? Lead me, Lord, into a life lived within Your precepts, A Biblical World View Life.

Psalm 103:19-22
The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all. Bless the LORD, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, obeying the voice of His word! Bless the LORD, all his hosts, his ministers, who do His will! Bless the LORD, all his works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul!

LORD, this is the day that You have made; a day for me to everything in Your name as I give thanks to the Father through You. Let the thoughts of my mind, the desires of my heart, the speech of my mouth and the work of my hands bring glory and honor to You.

Psalm 103:15-18 As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field;

Psalm 103:15-18
As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field;for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more. But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children's children, to those who keep His covenant and remember to do His commandments.

Man whose day are like grass, blown and bending with every breeze, cut by the reaper's scythe, sent tumbling to an unknown end. Yet overly taken by his own importance, man stands defiant, claiming his own godness, but to no avail. He leaves no mark upon the creation.

But Your love, my LORD, stands steady and firm against all, giving succor and comfort to all who seek You and live according to Your word. It is a love that existed before time began and will continue beyond the end of time, given without reservation to Your covenant people.

Praise You, LORD, God Almighty.

Psalm 103:8-14 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

Psalm 103:8-14
The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will He keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.

LORD, Your patience and mercy go on and on, You do not deal with me according to my sins but according to Your great love and mercy. Your compassion is as a sea without shores, without limit and in infinite supply. You, in that infinite compassion, took up the blot of my sin and cast it far away, beyond the reaches of that endless sea, You have healed and restored me, Praise Your holy Name.

Psalm 103:5-7 The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.

Psalm 103:5-7

The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses, His acts to the people of Israel.

Lord, Your righteousness and justice are available to all; they are without limit, the rich, the poor, the slave, the free, the Jew, the Gentile, to all who are oppressed. And we all are oppressed; weighed down by sin and far from Your presence. But You, in Your graciousness, have made the offer of redemption known to all, without restriction. Your testimony is open for all to read and accept, Your love is spoken through creation, and Your grace and mercy through miracles of healings and lives transformed. Your ways are an open book for all to read.

Psalm 103:1-5 Of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name!

Psalm 103:1-5
Of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. All that is within me, LORD, my heart, my will, my mind, my conscience, my ambitions, my plans, my hopes, my desires, my fears, my joys, my happinesses, my passions, my being; all rising up in blessing You and in thanksgiving to You. O LORD, that the very fiber of my life would be praising You!

Psalm 119:63 I am a companion of all who fear You, of those who keep Your precepts.

Psalm 119:63
I am a companion of all who fear You, of those who keep Your precepts.

To meditate on this verse, Lord, on a day when I am anticipating the arrival of two dear saints, to share a meal and fellowship. To know that the conversation will be directed by You, the subjects discussed will center on Your precepts to explore how they govern and direct our lives. To have the expectation that it will be a time of joy and thanksgiving; acknowledging the many ways You have moved in our lives since we were last together.
To know that when we part, it is only a physical separation, we remain indissolubly linked through the power of the Holy Spirit to You and to each other. Praise You, our Lord and our Master.

Psalm 119:59 When I think on my ways, I turn my feet to Your testimonies;

Psalm 119:59
When I think on my ways, I turn my feet to Your testimonies;

Amazing, Lord, when I think on Your ways, I am filled with awe and elation; when I think on my ways, I am filled with despair and dejection. Therefore I must turn my feet to the path of obedience for in that path is perfect joy and peace. It is in that path that I find Your presence. That is where I come under that very weight of glory, pressing down and filling in. Lord, guide my feet in the walk; lead me to live the Truth.

Psalm 102:23-28
He has broken my strength in midcourse; He has shortened my days. (24) "O my God," I say, "take me not away in the midst of my days-- You whose years endure throughout all generations!" (25) Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. (26) They will perish, but You will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, (27) but You are the same, and Your years have no end. (28) The children of Your servants shall dwell secure; their offspring shall be established before You.

O, LORD, that constancy, the permanency, the consistency, the completeness; You do remain. I can look to You in the morning and You are there. I can look to You in the evening and You are there. I can look to You in times of distress and You are there. I can look to You in times of joy and You are there. You have engraved me on the palm of Your and and I am secure.
Great is Thy faithfulness, O, God, my Father. There is no shadow of turning with Thee. Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not. Great is Thy faithfulness, LORD, unto me.

Psalm 102:12-22
But You, O LORD, are enthroned forever; You are remembered throughout all generations. You will arise and have pity on Zion; it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come. For Your servants hold her stones dear and have pity on her dust. Nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth will fear Your glory. For the LORD builds up Zion; He appears in His glory; He regards the prayer of the destitute and does not despise their prayer. Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD: that He looked down from His holy height; from heaven the LORD looked at the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die, that they may declare in Zion the name of the LORD, and in Jerusalem His praise, when peoples gather together, and kingdoms, to worship the LORD.

But You are faithful to forgive and heal; You do not forget Your promises; You will carry your Church through the fires of trials and afflictions; You will bring us to full maturity as Your Body, fit for the Kingdom and as Your ambassadors of reconciliation. You will do this so that Your name will be glorified throughout all the creation. You are Lord.

Psalm 102:3-11 For my days pass away like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace.

Psalm 102:3-11
For my days pass away like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace. My heart is struck down like grass and has withered; I forget to eat my bread. Because of my loud groaning my bones cling to my flesh. I am like a desert owl of the wilderness, like an owl of the waste places; (7) I lie awake; I am like a lonely sparrow on the housetop. All the day my enemies taunt me; those who deride me use my name for a curse. For I eat ashes like bread and mingle tears with my drink, (10) because of Your indignation and anger; for You have taken me up and thrown me down. (11) My days are like an evening shadow; I wither away like grass.

I know that suffering and trials are supposed to produce the perseverance that leads to maturity of my faith, but it is so painful when others suffer because of my failures and neglect. I know that the promise extends to them but when it is my failure to faithfully carry the word of grace and mercy to them; when I have neglected to take up my calling to serve them and instruct them on the proper path of a disciple of the Kingdom? Lord, forgive me and do not let others suffer because of my sin and failure to be obedient to You.

Psalm 102:1-2 A Prayer of one afflicted, when he is faint and pours out his complaint before the LORD.

Psalm 102:1-2
A Prayer of one afflicted, when he is faint and pours out his complaint before the LORD. Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry come to You! Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress! Incline Your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call!

How can I not cry out to You in my afflictions and turmoils? Why do I seek my own counsel first? When will I learn that You are the One who comforts; You are the One who leads; You are the One who is the source of all joy and contentment; You are the Fountain of Living Water and I must seek Your face at all times and in all seasons. You are Lord of all.

Exodus 20:1-2, 8-11 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy."

Exodus 20:1-2, 8-11
And God spoke all these words, saying, "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. ... "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. (9) Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, (10) but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. (11) For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Above all, observe My Sabbath.
It is a day for you and Me
to enjoy together.
Sing My praises in the
communion of saints,
remembering My death.

Psalm 119:56 This blessing has fallen to me, that I have kept Your precepts.

Psalm 119:56
This blessing has fallen to me, that I have kept Your precepts.

The blessings of peace and joy fall to me, Lord, as I live secure within the national boundaries of Your kingdom. When Your precepts are my guide to life, I have no reason to fear the consequences for You have promised goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.

Psalm 119:49-50 Remember Your word to Your servant, in which You have made me hope.

Psalm 119:49-50
Remember Your word to Your servant, in which You have made me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, that Your promise gives me life.

Hope and comfort, Lord, hope and comfort. Your word brings hope for the future; that I can face today and tomorrow secure in the knowledge that Your word goes before me. The comfort of knowing that all that has been, has been allowed to bring me closer to You; and that all will continue to do so. The comfort of knowing that Your promise is life, the life eternal that is knowing You.

Psalm 101:8 Morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked in the land,

Psalm 101:8
Morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked in the land, cutting off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD.

Lord, lead me to confess and repent of those sins revealed to me; lead me to cast them at the foot of the Cross and to take them up no more. Teach me, Lord, to never taste again of the forbidden fruit and to seek to bring glory and honor to Your name in all of my life.
