Psalm 41.4-6 As for me, I said, “O LORD, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against You!

Psalm 41.4-6

As for me, I said, “O LORD, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against You!” My enemies say of me in malice, “When will he die, and his name perish?” And when one comes to see me, he utters empty words, while his heart gathers iniquity; when he goes out, he tells it abroad.

I have sinned against You, my Lord, both in omission and in commission, in the done and the undone; in the doing and in the not doing, I have brought disgrace to Your name. For when I have claimed to be one of Your children, transformed by Your grace and mercy, the world judges me by a different standard. They say, “Aha, he says he is a Christian but look how he sins, look how he lives just like we do. Why should we listen to what he preaches? What a hypocrite.”

Lord, forgive me, for I have sinned against You. I repent and seek the transforming power of Your Holy Spirit in my life, so that my walk as Your disciple truly reflects Your love, grace, and mercy.
