You are my King, O God; ordain salvation for Jacob! Through You we push down our foes; through Your name we tread down those who rise up against us. For not in my bow do I trust, nor can my sword save me. But You have saved us from our foes and have put to shame those who hate us. In God we have boasted continually, and we will give thanks to Your name forever. Selah
Lord, I do need to be more faithful about giving You the credit and boasting in You. For the glory and power are not in my strength, but Yours; not in my erudition, but in Your wisdom; not in my name, but Yours.
Through the power of Your name, I can triumph over all that besets me, but I need to learn to go to You first, not after I have tried all and failed. Why cannot I get it in my head that the proper order is “Pray and do”, not “Do and pray”?
