Lord's Day, 29 March 2009
Exodus 20:1-2, 14
And God spoke all these words, saying, "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. ... You shall not commit adultery.

Adultery, now that's harsh, You know, Lord, that I wouldn't do that or fornication, what an ugly word. Well, maybe a little innocent flirting or some minor passing peccadillo. That's doesn't sound so bad, does it and everybody does it, right? You can't mean that I have to avert my eyes and my mind at every passing temptation? You cannot mean that I am to be faithful to my wife in thought as well as deed? And faithful to my family? And to my church? And to my friends and business relationships? And to all my promises and commitments? A good thing that You have sent the Comforter to guide and teach me.
