Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes.
I was lost, Lord, wandering far from You and You afflicted me with the consequences of my sin and convicted me of my need for You. You showed me the mountain that I could not climb and lifted me over it by Your grace and love. Now you lay out before me all the wonders and majesty of a life lived in concert with You. A great panorama lies before me, the grand sweep of the rich life in Your Kingdom; this limitless valley of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit that is mine to dwell in for the rest of my days.
Praise You, my Lord, Master and Savior.
