You know my reproach, and my shame and my dishonor; my foes are all known to you. Reproaches have broken my heart, so that I am in despair. I looked for pity, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none. They gave me poison for food, and for my thirst they gave me sour wine to drink.
I know, Lord, that my disobedience, my self-will, my greed and lust, all those evidences of the continued activity of the old man in my life, must cause You great sorrow and pain. You paid the ultimate sacrifice; I have sworn allegiance to Your name, yet I deny You through actions and words. I repent, I am covered with shame by my disobedience to the One who loves me so much. Forgive, me, Lord, and transform me through the working of the Holy Spirit in my life. Help me, Lord Jesus.
