Lord, there is no strength in me, not of myself or of my own will and determination. I cannot restore my life, let alone the life of another. My soul is troubled by what I see in me and by what I fear for others. It is so difficult to remember and obey "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-7)
Voices Together is taken from my daily meditations, primarily on the Psalms. However, from time to time, I will include a meditation on the practical implications of the Law as I seek to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 85 :1-5 O LORD, God of my salvation; I cry out day and night before You.
Psalm 88:1-5 A Song. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. To the choirmaster: according to Mahalath Leannoth. A Maskil of Heman the Ezrahite. O LORD, God of my salvation; I cry out day and night before You. Let my prayer come before You; incline Your ear to my cry! For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near to Sheol. I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I am a man who has no strength, like one set loose among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, like those whom You remember no more, for they are cut off from Your hand.
