Psalm 95:7b-11 Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,

Psalm 95:7b-11
Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness, when your fathers put Me to the test and put Me to the proof, though they had seen My work. For forty years I loathed that generation and said, "They are a people who go astray in their heart, and they have not known My ways." Therefore I swore in my wrath, "They shall not enter My rest."

Today, Lord, when I hear Your voice, that I would follow that voice, not hardening my heart and seeking my own will as I have in the past. How can I live in Your rest if I do not follow Your righteous commandments? How can I expect joy and Shalom to be the order of my life if I disobey Your word? How can the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and my mind in You when I reject Your voice?

Lord, make me attentive to Your voice, alert to the guiding of the Holy Spirit and deaf to the siren calls of self.
